Social Media: Make-Up Artist Magazine & IMATS

With the production of 6 issues a year and 6 trade shows a year, Make-Up Artist magazine and IMATS funneled an immense amount of information through their social media channels.

I was inspired to create a bold new posting style in an attempt to unify the content and help it stand out in a flood of high quality and beautiful imagery make-up enthusiasts find in their feed.

Each issue of Make-Up Artist magazine had a unique color palette from which the boldest color was chosen. A grid of imagery was created, starting with the two cover options and an available now announcement. I would plan out two months of posts to carry our audience through the current issue, highlighting features, exclusive stories and how-to tutorials.

This approach tripled single issue sales.

We were able to take the same approach with our trade event, IMATS. Our 6 shows were each represented by a color that we were able to block out and hyper-focus our social feeds on an upcoming event. The color key helped our audience recognize the posts that interested them most based on the city they intended to visit.

Paired with email marketing that reinforced our social messaging, this approach increased customer satisfaction and increased ticket sales.
